Bloomberg visits Occupy Wall Street, says power-cleaners are coming to Zuccotti Park

Mayor Bloomberg briefly dropped by the Occupy Wall Street encampment in the Financial District Wednesday, to the surprise of some protesters.

The mayor went to inform the anti-corporate demonstrators that the owner of Zuccotti Park - where they began camping almost a month ago - plans to bring in power-washers Friday.

"The last three weeks have created unsanitary conditions and considerable wear and tear on the park," said Deputy Mayor Cas Holloway. "The cleaning will be done in stages and the protesters will be able to return to the areas that have been cleaned."

According to Democracy Now reporter Ryan Devereaux, the billionaire mayor was met with some chants of "you are the 1%" - and also some grudging respect for his courage in showing up ...

1. Bet it will be fenced in or some other closure. They won't be able
to re-occupy. I don't trust him and Wall Street will pay him well to make sure it happens.

3. Oh ye of little faith. I despise the guy but a fence would be a
really bad PR move.

He IS a politician after all.

well..........you think he reads DU. He might be the 1% but he give a lots of his money to fund museums and other programs for the good of all. Really check it out, he does speak with his money.
