Man arrested on child abuse charges after posting controversial YouTube video
ORLANDO, Fla. — A man was arrested in Orlando after police said he posted a controversial video on YouTube of himself disciplining a 7-year-old boy.
Devery Broox, 25, was a mentor trusted by the child's family and told police he was punishing the boy for acting up in school.

The graphic video is nearly eight minutes and the young boy can be heard screaming and crying. Halfway through the video the child screams, "It hurts!” as he's being spanked.

In the video, Broox used hair clippers to cut the child's hair and eyebrows as punishment for acting up in school. Throughout the video Broox curses the child and verbally reprimands him for his behavior. Then, he takes the boy to another room out of camera view and the sounds of spanking and screaming can be heard.

After the spanking, Broox told the child, "We're going to work out like we just came out of boot camp."

The 7-year-old is then told to run laps and forced to do sets of 15 push-ups.

2. Wow. Film yourself beating your kid. Brain Surgeon.
Beating your kid is only going to make him grow up to hate you and hit others.

3. Well, at least he didn't make the kid shave with a bucket over his head.
When I was in boot camp (1961) the DI had two kids who hadn't shaved (they didn't need to really, both being cursed with just enough peach fuzz to catch the DI's eye) shave each other while both had buckets over their heads. A rather bloody exercise in "discipline" ensued.

4. In 62, those who hadn't shaved the morning of going into the tear gas
chamber, had to dry shave. Then they went into the gas chamber.

5. Those were the days......when I realized that I had made the biggest mistake of my life.
The DI's in our platoon actually got investigated and removed for brutality. Not for the shaving bit, but for their handiwork with rifle butts on a couple of guys at Camp Matthews(?) shooting range who didn't "squeeze" rather than pull the triggers of their M1s. The bruises were too extensive to cover up.

8. WOW!
I was at Parris Island. Only one of our Drill Instructors was psycho, but he didn't leave that sort of massive damage!
