Thank you Mr Jobs
Thanks to you I'm writing this post from your iPhone from a ship in the Gulf of damn Mexico. Hope St Peter keeps his records on an iPad.

RIP

2. From my MacBook Air, solid state drive...
Thanks for everything, Mr. Jobs:

The "desktop" interface that inspired Windows.

The original iPhone model that has become the basis of practically all new smart phone designs.

The incredibly sexy Titanium Powerbook, and the leathery Pismo and Lombards, too!

And for the best customer service.

And for letting us be developers.

Thank you for all of this and more.

:patriot:

5. The "desktop" came from the Xerox Alto
not from Apple, and not from Jobs.

3. And if Apple had gone tits-up in 1998?
We'd still have smartphones and tablets and so on, they just wouldn't have the Apple brand on them. (And you'd have a Nokia or Samsung or Motorola phone that would work just as well from a ship in the Gulf of Mexico.) Just like we'd still have cars if Henry Ford died before he built the Model T.

9. Nope. Apple sped innovation. The first 'iPhone' like device wouldn't have launched nearly as early.

Tech companies like to slow technology to make every dime possible out of what exists in the now.

And more importantly, it wouldn't have an Apple OS. That is their true heart.

12. Maybe not as early, still would've have happened
And the Android OS is just as good. (better if you happen to want Flash support and wifi hotspot capability.)

13. The iPhone has WiFi hotspot capability.
And Flash is an antiquated technology being universally shunned by developers. Even Adobe admits that Flash is being replaced.

8. Macs and things are way too expensive for me. 1000 bucks for a laptop?
But I'd buy them if I could afford them.

11. Thank you Steve Jobs, for everything.
Because of your products, I lost my fear of the big, bad, scary computers, and now I can hang around DU!

What a pioneer.

What a loss. :(

RIP, for your good deeds go with you.
