Wisconsin: (AG) Van Hollen shows his skewed priorities
http://www.jsonline.com/news/opinion/van-hollen-shows-his-skewed-priorities-131104578.html

..snip..

Sitting atop one of the few state agency budgets that Gov. Scott Walker did not eviscerate, J.B. Van Hollen has the "tools" to succeed, one would think.

Turns out, for the Republican attorney general, it is not about law enforcement resources but about the partisan priorities of the state's so-called top cop. Consider the evidence on two pressing issues.

Van Hollen refused to help local law enforcement in the John Doe investigation that has ensnared top officials from Walker's Milwaukee County executive regime. Among those involved are people given top jobs in the Walker gubernatorial administration. The two previous Wisconsin attorneys general offered resources and support in similar types of cases involving fellow Democrats, but Van Hollen took a high-profile and controversial pass.

Even more offensive than Van Hollen's stonewalling for Walker is his aggressive pursuit of a frivolous lawsuit against the federal health care reform passed last year. He has provided no accounting for how many hours and how many of our tax dollars have been wasted trying to keep insurance companies from being able to deny coverage for people with pre-existing conditions and break the stranglehold that the insurance cartel has on our health care needs.

..end..
