The Unseen China: (The cost of "progress")
Edited on Sat Jan-15-11 06:31 AM by Hannah Bell
The ending to this documentary is about the saddest thing I've seen in awhile.

If you don't want to be depressed, don't watch.

Summary: The rich get richer, the poor get poorer.

Parts 1-5

And in a related video: Here is a government announcement supposedly broadcast repeatedly via loudspeaker to get people to vacate their homes (so the land can be redeveloped).

Summary: Winter is coming; because so many people have left the apartment building we can't provide heat, so if you stay it will have a bad effect on your life. The real estate market is down temporarily, leave now & get in on the great deals in a new place...

Seems similar to forcing people out of their homes by cutting off city services in Detroit, for example, or cutting back fire protection in NYC.

Or for that matter, pulling out jobs anywhere, forcing people to migrate.

Or, for that matter, war.

1. It staggers me any time someone points to China as a model to follow, whether it's in business,
education, or social matters.

3. It's unfortunate, but considering how other communist countries ended up...
Well...just look at Russia and the rest of eastern europe.
