A few thoughts on strategy regarding the #Occupy workers. Please add yours if appropriate.
-Police are using divide-and-conquer techniques on marchers in NYC. Make sure you know the local area (maps) and never get driven into a risky, closed area
-Have a plan if they mass behind a march because something may be coming
-It would help to have runners go ahead on any march route and nearby streets to confirm police presence/blockades
-Not so far-fetched- In good weather, remote-controlled hobby blimps with real-time cameras could help...

These groups are adapting very quickly and very cleverly. Let's make sure it continues.

1. Carry sissors to thwart kettling...
Cut through the orange netting they've been using to corral protesters.

In response to your last idea, in light of the recent current events in which an individual planned to use radio controlled devices with explosives in Washington, D.C. I feel that this may be a bad idea.

4. Think ahead - are you headed to an area (the bridge) where they
can make you look like the bad guy and do not trust them. They mislead you once - that is enough. And always above all else remain non-violent.
