Woman sues tea party chairman in West Palm Beach and wins and loses

WEST PALM BEACH — A Riviera Beach woman has won a $1,426 judgment against the chairman of the South Florida Tea Party, claiming he stiffed her out of money she was promised for raising money for the conservative movement during last fall's elections.

Susan L. Smith said she was disappointed Palm Beach County Court Judge Sandra Bosso-Pardo didn't order Everett Wilkinson to pay her the $8,000 she said she deserves. But she acknowledged she had a difficult time proving her case because Wilkinson wouldn't give her access to the group's financial records. She was to be paid a commission on money she brought in.

Wilkinson didn't return a telephone call for comment.
