Edited on Fri Jan-14-11 09:49 AM by EV_Ares
both give Delay a voice. Tweety the other night brings up the fact " I don't know anyone who has ever been charged under this code" Now Todd giving Delay a voice about how he was screwed on his charges and the jury verdict. Also, Todd talking about Palin her own person, Simon saying she made her mistakes early which you need to do before the election. Guess saying everyone will forget about "blood libel" by the time she runs for President.

Let faux be their voice.

when she can't speak for herself.

5. You haven't been watching Hardball if you think Tweety is promoting Palin
Yes Matthews and his guests have been discussing her target map and her "blood libel I am a victim speech". They've been telling the truth about Palin and her rhetoric on that show.

6. Yes, I have been watching Hardball and yes Tweety is one of the worst at constantly keeping
her in the news, constantly doing what she wants and reporting on every little tweet she does regardless if it is about her going to the bathroom or whatever.

8. I hope you aren't missing the irony here
Your OP references Palin as well. How about everybody, and DU especially, give it a rest? Palin obsession is best left to her groupies.

9. You have a point but I think what it is here about DU, is that we are a board whereas we are saying
Edited on Fri Jan-14-11 10:10 AM by EV_Ares
the media, like MSNBC and those who report on MSNBC are the ones guilty of giving her a platform to keep herself in the news daily which is what she is striving for regardless if it is newsworthy or not. That is just message board opinion as on many boards, what happens on boards. We are not the news media so we can bitch about something we think should be mentioned like the media which ass Palin says really is sort of lame anymore. Have to agree with her on that.

11. Certainly DU and MSNBC are different animals
Edited on Fri Jan-14-11 10:18 AM by RZM
There's no arguing that. But DU and other similar boards are made up of people who consume political news and prefer certain types of outlets. A quick look at DU would tell any market researcher that there is indeed a prodigious appetite for Palin info on the left. MSNBC caters to a left-leaning audience, so perhaps in some way they are just giving their audience what they want.

There is something of a feedback system going on here. The more the media talks about Palin, the more the online left talks about Palin, which just further convinces editors that Palin is what people want to hear about.

I think the MSM, Palin supporters, Palin detractors and the Sarah machine itself have all done their part to make her into a larger public figure than she should be.

13. Agree, good points but I still feel doesn't hurt as others have done on here and other boards
to call the media on their trivial coverage of her. Greenspans wife gets really excited about her tweets at times. At the same time, see where you are coming from concerning the fact that when i as we are now discuss her it continues to feed the beast in someway. Guess it is just a vicious circle isn't it.

14. We need to call her out over and over, just as the fringe right repeats lies.
Death panels, socialist, non-citizen, communist, hates America. The more a lie is repeated....

We need to repeat the truth as much. Point out her lies and hate mongering over and over.

Isn't politics a PR competition?

10. So the content of the show means nothing to you?
It has been a very solid critique of Palin and all the violent gun rhetoric coming from the right.

It is a critique that needs to be made,

12. Where have I ever said the content of the show means nothing to me? If it did not mean
Edited on Fri Jan-14-11 10:48 AM by EV_Ares
anything to me, I would not watch MSNBC of which I did and I will. At the same time I say as he is and does on many occasions becomes completely absorbed in something as he is with Palin and he has always gave Tom Delay a voice and helping hand at times. Tom Delay is a disgraced criminal recently confirmed by the jury verdict. Even during the time he was preparing for trial, he had him on almost as a commentator on his show. I don't watch him much because of these reasons and a big part of the time, he will ask a question and then never let them answer it.

15. I haven't seen the segment you're referencing, but Matthews has been pretty hard on Palin this week.
Actually not just this week, he's been pretty hard on her all along.

Chuck Todd was critical of her the other night on Hardball but I generally tune him out when he comes on so I can't say if this is a regular thing for him...I'm guessing its not though.
