4. Palin is on a major downhill slide.
Lucky for her, she doesn't have far to fall. Last I heard, her approval rating was at the bushlike level of 22%.

if a democrat gets down to 22%, they completely vanish from the political scene.

not so with republicans.
their true constituency is money, not people.
they don't really need popularity to be relevant. it certainly helps, but it's not necessary.

5. I've been thinking about the movie " The Dead Zone"...
when Martin Sheen's character is being shot at and survives by holding a young child in front of him as a shield. In that split second his character is exposed so completely that it ends his career. I think Sarah's tape was her dead zone moment. It was such a repulsive display, and exposed her true character so definitively, that no one could have done as much damage to her as she did to herself in that moment. It was really quite amazing.
