Has anyone else here seen "Restrepo" yet?

This movie is as real of a picture as you will ever see of war short of actually being in one yourself.

It shows the fruitlessness, the pointlessness and the tragedy of the conflict in Afghanistan and the terrible price it is taking on our people and theirs.

I recommend it highly and would like to hear what the rest of you who saw it thought of it.

1. It's on Natty Geo occasionally
I thought it was a very powerful film.

I like the way that several different angles play off each other.... It makes the whole conflict into a bunch of kids versus an old dude who just wants to get paid for his cow. :(

2. I had to click away. Too painful.
In my youth I naively thought we would never again do what we did in Vietnam.

It covers a UK-Danish base in Afghanistan in a similar manner, but gets into a serious controversy, that we should all be discussing, but we don't anymore in the M$M.

Armadillo, Janus Metz's documentary about Danish soldiers in Afghanistan

Armadillo: the Afghanistan war documentary that shocked Denmark
In Denmark, the press and public have been stunned by Armadillo, Janus Metz's documentary about a UK-Danish base in Afghanistan, and the actions of the soldiers based there

Do the Swiss ever deploy outside their borders?

I'm going to see if I can find that movie now.

4. That was a pretty intense film
I've been telling people they should watch it too. I told my little brother who plans on joining the army to watch it. Not so much to discourage him or anything, but just so he could he see what he might be getting into.

9. I'm reading Sebastian Junger's "War" right now.
I read the chapter about "Doc" Restrepo last night. I have Restrepo, the DVD, on order. I am very eager to see this Sebastian Junger/Tim Heatherington film.
