The Judge (Tucson) was his uncle
On Monday, we left Sonoma in our attempt to get to Atlanta via O'Hare (Chicago).

Upon arrival at O'Hare, we were told the only way we were going to get to Atlanta was through Dallas, so away we went.

Got to Dallas and were told that we might get to Atlanta on Thursday, what with all the snow and all of that.

Checked into the Hyatt at the airport ($255/night, because they have you by the balls at that point).

GF got on the phone to American Airlines because I had decided to do some serious drinking, being somewhat pissed at everything by then.

She spoke at length (like four Manhattans and a couple of single malt doubles on top of all that crap I drank on the plane) to a guy named Troy who saved our asses.

After a lengthy search, Troy found a couple of seats on a plane from DFW to Montgomery, AL on Tuesday, where we could rent a car and drive to Atlanta.

Saved our asses.

GF, "So, Troy, where are you based?"

Troy, "Tucson."

GF, "We want you to know that our hearts, prayers, and thoughts are with you all."

Troy, "The Judge was my uncle."

The three of us spent some serious time on the phone. Troy told us some wonderful stories about his beloved uncle.

The world gets smaller every day.

4. Besides being a touching story...
you tell it so well. And I'm not talking just spelling, grammar, and punctuation. This has style (not common around here).

I look forward to reading more posts from you.

5. Thank you.
I write it like I feel it.

Like I talk it.

I long for the days when folks spoke and wrote as if they really meant it, rather than just texting-talk.

I really appreciate your comments, End. That means a lot to me.

I'll be around.
