just tried to unsubscribe to Obama e-mails
I'm about to head to the Capitol to ask Congress to act on my plan to put Americans back to work.

Before I do, I wanted to write you directly to remind you that the fight to create jobs -- and provide the kind of economic security for middle-class families that's been slipping away over the last decade -- won't begin or end with the speech I give tonight.

What happens will be up to you. In the coming days and weeks, it will be up to you to pressure Congress to act -- or hold them accountable if they do not.

If you're with me, let me know. And the campaign will make sure you are looped into our efforts to support this plan.

Talk to you soon,

Barack

Now when you unsubscribe you will get a video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f-VZLvVF1FQ&feature=player_embedded

And this:

Unsubscribe

It's going to take all of us, staying connected and working together, to continue changing our country for the better.

We're sorry to see you go. We hope you'll reconsider and choose to stay in touch.
Email Address *
Please tell us why you are unsubscribing (optional):

Sorry Folks, I cannot support this Guy anymore, I can't keep hoping...........

Sometimes you have to vote for someone you don't exactly approve of to keep something even worse out of power. I sure as hell don't want any Republican in the White House, but that's what talk like this gets us.

to send all people making such statements to an alternate universe where they would have Perry or even Romney as presidents, hell have them have the dynamic duo of McCain/Palin for a year or two, and then allow them to come back to what is generally called reality and have them compare notes. Anybody knows if I can find one (a wand I mean) on eBay?

22. weren't there nine ringwraiths?
So apropos....

They were once Men. Great kings of Men. Then Sauron the Deceiver gave to them Nine Rings of Power. Blinded by their greed, they took them without question. One by one, falling into darkness. They are the Nazgûl. Ringwraiths, neither living nor dead.

In dark and loneliness they are strongest; they will not openly attack a house where there are lights and many people — not until they are desperate, not while all the long leagues of Eriador still lie before us. But their power is in terror, and already some in Bree are in their clutch. They will drive these wretches to some evil work: Ferny, and some of the strangers, and, maybe, the gatekeeper too.

The Dem Party lost the election in 2010. And because they refuse to learn the lessons from that loss, they are heading towards another loss.

I won't write here how angry that makes me, it would be unprintable. They threw away the opportunity of a generation which we handed to them, maybe more, for this country.

Don't bother with that rightwing lie, most of us have already researched the stats so it won't work. Try it somewhere else, although I'm not sure such a distortion of the facts will work anyhwere.

Then, to top it off Democrats lost Ted Kennedy's seat, a feat even those who were worried about their messing up the huge win they had in 2008, didn't think they could accomplish.

I guess if you're going to fail, which seems to almost be the goal, you may as well do it spectacularly.

Btw, I hope you are not going to be trying to get votes for Dems in the next election. Your strategy is a perfect example of how to lose.

And btw, it's 'Ponies' AND 'Unicorns' NOT just Unicorns, here on DU.

Ponies = things like Gay Rights, Women's Rights, Environmental Protection, Health-care for all Americans.

Unicorns = End the wars, (that's what the sparkles are for) end torture, prosecute war criminals and Wall St. criminals and few other things like that.

We want it all. So next time, please do NOT leave out the 'ponies'. Shame on you for forgetting those issues! What kind of progressive would make such an error. :eyes:

83. We're not talking about turnout. We're talking why Democrats
lost Independents in 2010. Ask Nancy Pelosi, she addressed the possiblity of losing that election to the WH BEFORE it happened. The Dem Leadership lost that election and they have done nothing to show they have learned from that disaster so far other than try to blame the voters. A real winning strategy! No, the voters are in no way responsible for 2010 and will not be responsible if it happens again in 2012 and there will be plenty of screaming about it if Republicans do win, from those of us who tried to warn them, for going three solid years now.

But keep pushing that failed strategy, as was happening exactly the same way, you guys haven't even learned to change the talking points yet, well, except for substituting the ridiculous 'pony' garbage with 'unicorn' I guess. I really hoped we would see better than this after the disaster of 2010, but it looks like the same old losing strategy from the DLC/New Dems/Third Wayers all over again.

dems showed in 2010
independants did not show
dont blame the losses on democrats
using that election to browbeat progressives is bull on its face
we are the ones who ALWAYS vote
thats as bad as blaming everything on obama
we showed up but congress had lost the huge turnout of 2008
blaming democrats or progressives for the 2010 losses just feeds the right wing
maybe if we could find ways for like minded people to work better together we could all have "unicorns that fart glitter"
which is about as insulting a thing as could be said about the honest VOTING democrats you are addressing

And looks for attention from the POTUS.

Withholding one's vote from the most liberal candidate who can win provides nothing but temporary emotional satisfaction. While progress continues or is driven backward if Republicans win.

This board has explained over and over why that is stupid and doesn't even get one much attention, other than a few posts in support here.

Uh. Okay? I tried unsubscribing from this one catalog company once. It took forever. I finally realized my browser wasn't compatible with their site...or the other way around. Anyway, I finally logged on using a peecee :puke: and IE :puke: :puke: and it worked.

Good luck with your unsubscribing adventure! :hi:

Edit to add: I'm craving brownies.

60. I'm not lifting a finger, walking one step or contributing one cent.
I regret taking away so much time from my kids/family for an administration that is working to protect the wealthy over working people. He had so many people backing him when he was first elected but he opted to side w corporations. Threats won't work for me . He HAD a Democratic house, senate & DoJ but failed to make use of them. WHAT AN EPIC DISAPPOINTMENT!
