How Dare She?
Edited on Wed Jan-12-11 05:09 PM by coalition_unwilling
So Palin thinks she and her followers are victims of a 'blood libel' because she's been accused of inciting violence?

How dare she compare criticism of herself with the suffering of Europe's Jews during the middle ages? I am so disgusted I am simply apoplectic with rage.

Palin is no friend of the Jews. Her religious world view foresees that during the Rapture and subsequent End Times, only 144,000 Jews will be saved. The rest will presumably perish by horrible suffering along with the rest of us Godless Marxists, pagans and atheists. Oh, almost forgot the Muslims, Buddhists, Hindi, et. al. We are all going to suffer horribly in her world view.

No matter. Her covert anti-semitism does not prevent her from attaching her situation to the historical suffering of Europe's Jews, as if the situations are in any way comparable. Europe's Jews died en masse during pogroms as a result of the real 'blood libel' that was uttered against them over and over by TPTB (or that were). How has Palin suffered one bit?

It was people like Palin who persecuted the Jews by uttering blood libels in the first place. She views Jews and anyone who doesn't believe in her personal savior as little more than vermin to be exterminated. So how dare she try to indemnify herself from her responsiblity for the Tucson shootings by attaching herself to the suffering of the very people she would like nothing more than to see exterminated?

2. LOL

So Palin thinks she and her followers are victims of a 'blood libel' because she's been accused of inciting violence?

WHEN has Palin EVER been RIGHT about ANY THING. Who cares what she thinks. I thank my lucky stars that she is finished. Hopefully 6 months from now - we'll never hear another word from her or about her. She will just go away.

3. i wouldn't say "during" the middle ages, as the blood libel is used against jews to this day.
it was used in hitler's germany.

hell, it was used in my high school against me. mere taunts from teens who would have found some other way to tease, but still. they learned the blood libel and repeated it in order to hurt and instill fear.

the blood libel is alive and well.

4. Point well taken and thank you for this. I suppose I thought the
advent of (pseudo) scientific anti-semitism in the 19th and 20th centuries had rendered the blood libel something of an anachronism. But careless and sloppy language on my part.
