Convicted Chiild Raper Warren Jeffs In Coma, May Not Survive.
The coward is committing suicide.

Aug. 29, 2011

Warren Jeffs, the polygamous sect leader and convicted child rapist, is in a coma and may not survive, a source close to Jeffs tells ABC News.

Jeffs, 55, had been fasting for the past three days and became so weak that doctors at the Texas prison where he is serving a life sentence induced a coma, according to the source.

The leader of a radical polygamist sect of Mormonism known as the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints (FLDS), Jeffs is scheduled to go on trial a second time in October to face charges of first-degree bigamy. Conviction would be punishable by up to 99 years or life in prison and up to a $10,000 fine.

Jeffs was moved last Tuesday to a solitary cell at the Powledge Unit in Palestine, Texas, because of the large amount of media coverage surrounding his case, prison officials said.

Notice that the story cites a "source close to Jeffs." In other words, one of his people, repeating his story. Probably trying to grab some PR or make a case for him not being able to stay in prison for health reasons.

6. "Church of Lies"
I'm reading it right now - the author is Flora Jessup, a woman who escaped the FLDS & the Jeffs, and now rescues others, mostly kids & women. If the Warren Jeffs trial hadn't happened, and the resultant media, I wouldn't have believed her. It's unbelievable that this shit can go on in this country, in this day & age.

A coma & hunger strike is too kind.

8. The doctors induced the coma because he became so
weak. He will be fed while in that state (I would assume religious fasting is not enough to stop medical people from giving him what he needs to live). It is the "other medical conditions" that may be making him so weak after fasting and may be the reason for his critical but stable condition. It would be very unsatisfying if he was so ill that he could not spend at least some miserable years in prison after what he has done to so many.

14. UPDATE "the 55-year-old prisoner's coma was medically induced and he IS expected to survive"

Imprisoned polygamist leader Warren Jeffs is in a coma in a Texas hospital after complications from fasting.

A person familiar with Jeffs' condition told The Associated Press on Monday that the 55-year-old prisoner's coma was medically induced and he's expected to survive. The person requested anonymity because the person was not authorized to discuss Jeff's condition publicly.

Jeffs' attorney Emily Detoto (dee-TOH'-toh) says her client was taken to East Texas Medical Center in Tyler on Sunday night.

Texas Department of Criminal Justice spokeswoman Michelle Lyons says Jeffs hasn't been eating or drinking enough since being sentenced this month to life in prison for sexually assaulting underage followers. Lyons says Jeffs is in critical but stable condition. It's not clear how long he'll be hospitalized

15. 3 days? There's a biblical implication here I'm sure.
death and then resurrection. Yeah, this dude is just like Christ. He will appear to his next successor within 3 days and pass along the mantle of Prophet, Seer and Revelator in a secret meeting.
At least his followers will try and draw some convoluted parallel...you watch.

17. After three days?
If he's been refusing water, they can reverse this very quickly with IV fluids and they will.

Nobody starves to death in three days. Six weeks, maybe.

24. I agree, only if he had been refusing to drink water would
this kind of result happened so quickly. Sounds more like a suicide attempt than fasting to me. I guess he doesn't look forward to being in prison for years.

Corrections spokeswoman Lyons says ... that "fasting is one small component. He has other medical issues that are more serious" ...
