Despite repeated warnings, Bush surprised by 9/11

By David Edwards

In an interview that aired Sunday night, President Bush told National Geographic Channel’s Peter Schnall that after 9/11, he didn’t want to blame intelligence agencies for failing to predict the attacks.

“At some point in time in the immediate aftermath of the attacks, I thought about why didn’t we know this?” Bush recalled.

“I knew we needed to figure out what went wrong to prevent other attacks but I didn’t want start the finger pointing and say to our intelligence communities, ‘You fouled up. You should have caught this. Why didn’t you know?’”

On Aug. 6, 2001 — more than a month before the attacks — Bush received a presidential daily briefing entitled “Bin Laden Determined to Strike in U.S.”

2. Didn't know about it? The out going Clinton Administration even told the incoming bu$h
administration about it. When are we going to round up and try our treasonous war criminals for war crimes and crimes against humanity?

3. Why wasn't the Hart/Rudman Report even looked at during those first nine months I wonder.
It was sitting on his desk from day one and was a detailed report on terrorism and particularly Al Qaeda, three years in the making..

this guy is so anti-intellectual that he dismisses everything because smart people would tell him the facts. This is a guy who goes by "gut" and his gut sucks because he refuses to listen. he is a classic no nothing and actually so was most of the administration.. The thought Russia was the big threat.

5. Or "Know nothing". But "no nothing" works, too. As in "0".
Laziest man on Earth. He didn't know anything because he wasn't interested in the job. He wasn't paying attention to anything. He wasn't up to the job. He's been on permanent vacation since he left high school. "Incurious" always worked in describing this jackass.

7. "you covered your ass, Now, watch this drive".
this new photo on the teeeeeveeee with him standing at the window of the oval office is enough to make me begin tossing full beer cans at the teevee again.

Good thing, Richard Clarke wasn't working in the whitehouse at that time, he would have told old pretzy boy a thing or two about terrorism.

8. He intentionally stayed away from the WH for a month and went to his
property in Texas at the hottest and most miserable time of the year to avoid dying in DC. Fucker knew some shit was coming. I remember that part about him telling Clarke that he had covered his ass. He simply didn't give a damn about anyone else and knew he needed a reason to invade Iraq. I couldn't bear to watch the program.

9. Pants on Fire also claims that Saddam wouldn't allow the inspectors into Iraq to check for
WMDs--but they were already there, and he was fully cooperating, when the CheneyBush administration ordered them out of Iraq so they could start bombing.

Yet no interviewer ever challenges him when he says such things.

10. What a dishonest man.
He dismantled the process that was in place, and didn't replace it with an adequate one in time to make a difference.

11. Fuck that bullshit. He's a complete waste of a human being. And 9/11 is much worse than anything
we were told.
