Rubio's theme of personal responsibility is laughable when you consider he is the same guy who participates in taxpayer-funded healthcare. The same guy who will receive both a state pension and a federal pension funded by federal and Florida taxpayers in the coming years. Conveniently members of the U.S. Senate become fully vested in their first term.
The same guy who as Speaker of the Florida House reported income in excess of $400,000, including a salary of $69,000 for work performed at Florida International University (a state-owned school) and $300,000 salary from a law firm for part-time work (now that's a part-time job).
Even with all that money coming in Rubio listed a net worth of only $8,332 due to his carrying $903,000 debt in the form of three mortgages, as well as a car and student loan. This is the same guy who had to restate his financial disclosure for inaccuracies, including a small oversight - failing to report a $135,000 home equity loan he took out on one of his two homes.
