until he is actually convicted of a crime he cannot be punished for that crime, for example by seizing his booksale income.

'No, no!' said the Queen. 'Sentence first - verdict afterwards.' 'Stuff and nonsense!' said Alice loudly. 'The idea of having the sentence first!' 'Hold your tongue!' said the Queen, turning purple. 'I won't!' said Alice. 'Off with her head!' the Queen shouted at the top of her voice. Nobody moved.

5. You think there are going to be buyers of that tripe?
It's a sub rosa way for fundies to funnel money to him--money-laundering by any other name.

7. I must have missed something along the way
what possible reason would the fundies have for funneling money to Darth? Haliburton has made him extremely wealthy and he has generous pension and health care from his years of government "service". He can burn the money he gets from this book and never miss it. Why go through the sham?

11. My guess is that he is trying to get the first word,
trying to justify his actions to history. In the long run, it is a futile attempt. History will not be kind to Cheney.

16. A crook can never have too much money
to hire thugs and politicians, at home and abroad. You can't conceive of how big the game is, and how few the players.

9. If the book were ruled to be evidence in his trial, everything would change.
Until that trial, not only does he have the right to the money, he has a right to keep on doing the stuff that got him the money in the first place.

I hope his admissions in writing and on paper give some unafraid prosecutor somewhere the balls to indict him and arrest him.
