1. Eh...
I don't think for this one global warming had an effect. Every once in a while a hurricane does go up to the North East.

2. Agree

I think we have to be careful about calling every fluctuation in the weather and every 'storm' the result of warming.

There is NO DOUBT the planet is getting warmer, but it's not going up 2 or 3 degrees a year, the rise is slow -at least in common terms- and I fear at some point we'll have a down tick (part of a natural cycle) which will neuter the movement to get carbon emissions under control.

I didn't see/hear what the OP is talking about so there could be some strong evidence to back the claim, I just want it to be 100% science-based with a required amount of data. After all, even faced with a mountain of evidence the other side discounts climate change, so we should demand absolute integrity in the science.

4. the original poster is suggesting people educate themselves about the connection between global
climate change and catastrophic weather events.

The OP is not a scientist but can listen to scientists or experts and come to her own conlusion.
Based on evidence.
It is not very difficult science, anyone can understand it.

3. It's not the point whether or not THIS particular weather event is due to climate change.
The point is that weather events like this and like the earthquake 2 weeks ago in NJ/Virginia are harbingers of what is coming.

see for example:
