I have a great deal of respect for Steve Jobs and can only wish him the very best. I would hate for him or anyone to suffer this way.

I won't put Steve Jobs on a pedestal, but I do hold him in great regard and wish him the best. If he truly is in end-stage cancer and nothing else can be done, I only hope he gets all the pain meds he needs to ease his journey. A peaceful, pain-free end is all we can ever really hope for, after all.

12. Interesting debate. But you'd think TMZ would know to avoid legal liability,
just as the National Enquirer, for all the tabloid rap it's received, has gotten their stories right.

My sister and I have noticed that TMZ seems to get the access that other tabloids/expose/entertainment sites don't.

I recall them having the only picture of Rihanna right after she was beaten by Chris Brown...entertainment shows had to credit them for the photo.

14. All the stuff that supposedly makes it fake is BS.
It's just us trying to imagine this is true and trying to find any way we can to get out of it. I bet Jobs is probably done with this nonsense, he's dealt with death already.

8. TMZ specializes in Photoshop. To the point they have a weekly feature
"Spot the difference" http://photos.tmz.com/galleries/whats_the_big_frigin_difference#tab=most_recent&id=98568

I check it out every weekend to see if I can find the changes. Good eye/mind exercise.

That said, I don't trust those photos one iota.

13. It's probably a real photo.
All of the things the critic says are signs it is fake are simply not true. The basically, everything looks very authentic, and I don't believe a fraudster would make a mistake. The criticism for everything else seem to be false, but especially the one where the head/neck don't match supposedly. That's just a tight contour that almost looks like a cut, it is not a real cut.

Considering the tone of Mr. Jobs message, and the peculiarity of the wardrobe, I do not believe this photo to be fake. After all, the critic says nothing about why a perfectly healthy Mr. Jobs would be wearing a skirt/bathrobe in a photo. A man with a well manicured image throughout his life would not let such a thing happen if he were truly doing better. The critic also doesn't speak to why Mr. Jobs would be in need of assistance, if he were actually healthier, than he would not need to be assisted.

All in all, I think the faux critic is just an attempt to deflect the fact that Steve Jobs is probably dying, and some people can't handle it. We do this, we want things not to be, we may tear people down, but we don't want them to die. We want them to come back triumphantly, not wither away into the big goodnight. Because of this we come up with conspiracy theories to try and negate reality: that even rich guys die, and sometimes they look like shit before it happens. Even your aspirational state cannot save you from the ultimate final destination, even the rich are going to end up the same way. Money is not the solution to all of our problems, living better is, even if you are poor.

But they can't take it as a lesson, they have to make shit up to make life seem less "lifey" and random. This guy lives in the real world, not a fairy tale and things will not end well for him, nor will they for most of us unfortunately.
