George Will Slams Dick Cheney For Not Apologizing For Iraq's "Costly War-Under False Pretenses"
WILL: Five hundred and sixty five pages and a simple apology would have been in order in some of them. Which is to say, the great fact of those eight years is we went to war—big war, costly war—under false pretenses. And…to write a memoir in which you say essentially nothing seriously went wrong…if I wrote a memoir of my last week, I would have things to apologize for.

1. Even those he's conservative to the bone, George Will is at least SANE.

He can't like what the Bachmann's and Perry's of the world have done to his party.

5. Bachmann and Perry didn't do it to his party. HE and his pals did.
Perry and Bachmann are the reaping of what he sewed, no matter how he tries to spin it.

If Will doesn't start actively attacking his own party, this is nothing more than a passing snit.

2. He's not sorry. Whey the hell would he apologize? Every one
of our troops and innocent civilians that were murdered were worth a fortune to Dick and his buddies. Add up all the money they made or stole from us and the Iraqi's. Divide by the number of people killed and you have exactly what a life is worth to those scumbags.

3. George Will:
"If I wrote a memoir of my last week, I would have things to apologize for."

Such as using stolen papers and notes from Jimmy Carter to prep Reagan for the 1980 debate George?

6. More to the point, NOT disclosing his involvment with the Reagan campaign...
...when he went on air praising Reagan's performance in that debate.

It wasn't any secret that Will was rooting for Reagan, but acting like a spectator when he was a participant showed there was no effective difference between "conservative commentator" and "conservative operative".

7. Apologize for what?
Edited on Sun Aug-28-11 08:47 PM by Solly Mack
Obviously, neither He nor Bush did anything wrong or criminal. Because, surely, in "no one is above the law" America, they would have both been prosecuted.

8. Cheney is already being pilloried...
...By his contemporaries... He's a liar and a thief, a savage excuse for a human being...

12. Probably never
But when the inevitable champions for Cheney materialize to say that "all this criticism is just coming from a bunch of dirty fucking hippies," it's useful to say, well, that's not true: After all, George Will had some pretty harsh things to say about the vice president.

15. Sorry Mr. Will
But the Rich no longer need you, or any intellectuals, why should they when the Fox News and the Churches do a much better job of controlling thought than you ever did? You are obsolete.
