On MSNBC they are covering how this storm behaved in
a different way than they expected with a very large wind field. This is why this storm fits the PATTERN for global weather change. We have MORE energy in the atmosphere... and they were also discussing how we may need to revise the category... of course for us interested in the science this is fascinating. For those not.. carry on.

1. This is fasinating especially followed by the strange earth quake.
Irene seemed to linger around Virginia. The epicenter of the quake.
Did anyone bring up HAARP in the discussion?

2. Of course not
oy.

But this is pretty much how we expect hurricanes to start behaving due to increased energy in the atmosphere and increased moisture.

They were also going onto how much the category is not all about a quake or a storm...

5. As storms get bigger, the minority that wants to revise the "Cat 1-6" scale will gain strength
Cat 1-6 ONLY refer to the wind speed. They don't account for the physical size of the storm, nor for the amount of water moved.

Kind of like specifying 34" waist pants without saying how long you want them.
