I wasn't paying much attention to the TV at the time as I had just found a local streaming station on my computer... but the TV was on either Weather Channel or CNN.

4. I found this:
http://www.wfsb.com/story/15347139/terryville-dam-breached

Officials are keeping a close watch on the dam on Route 72 in Terryville, known as the Preston Dam. It has been breached and might break.

Route 6 is closed due to over 3 feet of water.

Reported dam failure in East Becket
Dam at Big Robin Lake in East Becket

BECKET, Mass. (WWLP) - The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for central Berkshire County and in Western Hampden and Hampshire Counties after a trained weather spotter reported that the dam at Big Robin Lake in East Becket had failed.

The water from the dam will be rushing into Walker Brook West Branch of the Westfield River, toward Chester and Huntington.

And this:

BOSTON -- A weakened Irene, downgraded from a hurricane to a tropical storm Sunday, packed a powerful punch as she hit Massachusetts, its heavy rains bursting a dam in the western part of the state, and its churning winds roiling rough surf that flooded low-lying coastal areas and bringing trees down on power lines across the commonwealth.

The Robinhood Lake Dam in the Sherwood Forest failed triggering evacuations and flooding the Becket and Chester areas, fire officials there said.

18. This is the brook
that has since come up over its banks and flooded Route 20. I took this clip this AM while out to breakfast at a nearby restaurant, only 20 minutes or so before the road was closed.
