1. They've been pointing this out on weather blogs for the past day or so.
Irene has been unusual as far as the location of the strongest wind activity. It is the tail that carries the punch.

2. I got blown over by freak 60 mph winds when I was waving signs for a candidate one year.
If that is the worst of it then thank goodness.

As long as we don't have storm surges...
