Wausau Labor Day parade bans Republican lawmakers

Parade bans GOP lawmakers

Organizers of the Labor Day parade in Wausau say Republican lawmakers aren't welcome in this year's event.

The Marathon County Central Labor Council sponsors the Sept. 5 parade. The council includes about 30 local unions from the Marathon County area.

Council President Randy Radtke said they choose not to invite elected officials who have "openly attacked workers' rights" or did nothing when state public workers lost most of their powers to collectively bargain.

There is a option to add comments and the teabaggers have been making their nonsense known this morning so we could use some help.

9. Then I wouldn't recommend.....
But I don't recall gays, as a group, being anti-labor.

Repubs have been repeatedly and stridently anti-labor for quite some time. This isn't discriminitory, it is rewarding Repub politicians for their actions. Does it ask Republican rank and file to not attend? IDK, but it doesn't sound that way.

So K & fucking R. And thanks for trying to hijack the thread.

I responded...

Good for organized labor! I am not a union employee, but I am very thankful for the 40 hour work week, safe workplace condtions and all of the other benefits I recieve ONLY because they fought for them in the past! If the GOP and Teapartiers get their way, expect to lose all of those rights and more all while the Kochs and the rest of the top 1% keep getting richer. The only crybabies I see are the zombie robots who suppoort these shortsighted views who are so unintelligent or misinformed that they actually don't realize that they will be effected every bit as much as the unions they seem to hate for no logical reason other than perhaps they don't belong to one.

As for not inviting the very lawmakers who are getting rich at the expense of their constituents (including those so blindly support them at their own peril), and doing their very best to destroy the very thing that the Labor Day parade honors, give labor a voice at the table and maybe you would be invited. Until then, get over it. Or create a holiday that honors what you support, maybe call it Greed Day or All-Mighty Dollar Day or Screw the Working Families day, heck I don't know. I do know that this isn't just about busting unions, once they have achieved that, they will be doing everything they can to make it a race to the botton for everyone, including the very Teapartiers who fought so hard to make the extremely wealthy into the obscenely wealthy. Wake up teaparties, your next, but to blinded by your own hate to realize it.

edited to add: Damn, I just saw to where it should have been too! Well, I seriously doubt a Teapartier is very likely to catch that given their proven spelling abilities!
