Can anyone tell me what the hell the Republicans are actually 'for'?
I have a partial LIST of what the Republicans DO NOTwant, but I have not heard much at all what they are 'for' other than 'small government' and Our Government IS smaller now than under Reagan.

Republicans do NOT want to support/fund ...

Social Security
Medicare
Universal Heath-care
The EPA
Medical Research
Public Schools/Higher Education
Government Intervention in National Disasters
Civil Rights
Women's Rights
Gay Rights
Union/Worker's Rights
FEMA
A National Weather Service
Etc.

I think it is NOT going to be hard at all for President Obama to define the differences in the two parties during the 2012 election.

If the American pubic were to be educated, with the FACTS, on many of the issues that affect their lives - I can not see how any one would ever vote for a Republican!

And in my opinion, anyone in America that thinks that voting does not matter they really should take a closer look at the differences in the two parties that we currently have.

4. Senator Orrin Hatch
Claimed this month that he was a tea party type guy before there even was a tea party.

Hatch has blocked more judges from being appointed by Democrat Presidents than any other Republican Senator.
Think about that.
He's against justice being carried out in the United States, and yet he is still in the Senate.

Sarah Palin came to his aid the other day and told the tea party to quit criticizing Hatch.
I think that is the "kiss of death" for Hatch, but I could be wrong.

17. Holy moly, that is a great graph.
I knew that Bush got everything he wanted, but it is ridiculous how long they have waited for some of those nominees to wait since Obama is President.

I think it is because Mormons are prejudiced against black Presidents.
And Hatch is Mormon.

But of course they still want roads & bridges, and cops & prisons, and a military that 10x larger than everyone else put together.

18. Yeah ...
EVERYTHING is strategy/politics to be in a position to be enable the rich and corporations ...

The rest of it, they really don't care about, the flag, guns, religion ...

They just tap into that to get the power to do what they do for the rich.

14. NO
It's that simple. No is what they're for. No for everything they don't want, whether it's good for the country or not. Yeah, that sounds like treason to me, too. After this congress, how can any American be a republican? I am ashamed that republicans are allowed to live in the U.S. They are a pox on our society. They have lost all reason and are resorting to throwing tantrums over everything like a bunch of three yr olds. I cannot associate with anyone who would vote republican, and I live in a deep red part of Texas, so that's most of the people. I don't talk to them anymore. I don't want to. They suck. I'm tired of hearing their lame fucking excuses for everything. The ignorance is astounding. So, I keep my circle tight.

Christian domination
social darwinism

27. They are for marriage between only a man and a woman and
jailing those who think otherwise. They are for prayer in schools and at all public events. They are for women knowing their place and staying home to take care of the kids and they are for men making as much money as they can get their hands on. They are for a huge military involved all over the world. They are for black people and other minorities staying in low level jobs where they belong (in their opinion). They are for closing the borders to all but white people. They are for limiting the vote to white men. They are for the legislatures going electing the Senators rather than the voters.

They are for limiting TV and other entertainment to "wholesome" fare. They are for police having as much power to make arrests as possible.

28. That's easy. They're for the wealthiest among us
The rest of us are either "useless eaters" or wage slaves. Of course, the wealthiest among us usually includes themselves too. As others in this thread have pointed out.

ALL of things they are for and against tie into this BASIC belief.

they are for socialist subsidies to Big Oil and Gas companies that show record profits, they are for ending Social Security and Medicare that help the working poor, they are for Free Trade deals and no tariffs on imports that protect US manufacturing jobs.

33. A few things I can think of
which all have the same goal.
Making people believe they are on their side because they do:
Go to a Christian church and demonize people who don't
want to "protect" the babies
want anyone who can fire to have a gun as opposed to those people who don't want to outlaw them but do want to have some safety measures.
make a point to participate in demonizing people who don't fit particular standards

And especially make it a point to appear to advocate for average Joe by taking advantage of the fact that in contrast to the upper and even middle class many white people don't feel their privilege. Thus, turning people against each other.

They are "for" preying on fears, anger, and negative conditions in order to get people to vote against their interests.
They are also for making people feel bad and beaten down so that they don't see a way out.

Norquist said that if Democrats took office his objective would be to make it impossible for them to govern as Democrats.
They are for destruction and perpetuating negative feelings toward government.

I know they also want to shrink government. To what end outside of varying speculation is what I am unsure of.
