for up to two weeks, which is a WORST CASE scenario... stay safe people

3. In CT
after Gloria in 1985, it took two weeks to restore full power. But they restored power to half that were out in around 40 hours. They expect the same to maybe happen with Irene.

I am almost willing that closer to large pop centers got power faster... that is kind of what happens.

Most of the time you'll get power back in hours or a few days, however downed trees, snapped poles, and flooded areas will slow down work.

People away from hospitals and police stations will be re-energized last.
