Saw 16 volunteer utility trucks headed east today....
I was on I70 heading east from Columbus. 16 electric utility trucks from Mississippi, Missouri and Indiana were headed toward the storm. My mom was riding shotgun, as we passed each truck she gave them the thumbs up sign. The one driver with a huge IBEW union sign on the rear window got a thumbs up and a beep from the horn.

2. I remember after some hurricane in Boston in the 1980s there were trucks there
from as far away as Quebec. I'm sure hydro quebec trucks are on standby as we write.

6. I'm pretty sure these guys are going to get compensated for their work.
They may have volunteered to go in and help from the company asking, but they make $ going. Per Diem, overtime, etc. is good pay. Many of them volunteer to go because they have before and they want to help... money helps out, too.

8. I saw a convoy this morning in Mississippi on I-20
heading east. I was going west to the Jackson airport to come home and wondered what they were up to....must have been at least 20 of them and it never crossed my mind that they were probably going to help some community on the east coast.:applause:
