8. I saw that! Someone posted a link to a local FOX affiliate in NY and
they've been doing some great coverage - like a shot looking straight down from the Empire State Building showing the gusting rain flying by. That's where I saw about the tornado watch. Here's the link for those interested (and don't get all pissy because it's FOX):

18. Who are you calling pissy?
Okay - humor based on the Russert/jealosy misunderstanding earlier. Without humor, ya not nothing, aye?

:D

9. I'm pretty worried for some of my friends and family
I am fortunate to have just moved into a 200 year old remodeled cotton mill with 1.5 foot thick stone walls. I feel pretty safe with food, water and candles ready. I am curious to see what the river running under the building will look like tomorrow.

19. I hear that
I am in 150 year old 14" thick brick and am prepared from years of living in hurricane country, but most homes around here are spitballed and duct taped together. Lucky if the nails actually go through 2 surfaces as opposed to one.

Stay safe.

12. Watch = conditions are ripe (Warning = conditions could deteriorate)
Recommend you close your windows before you go to bed, just in case. A strong wind ripping through an open window is a good way to lose a roof.

Stay safe! Its only one night and will be over by noon-ish tomorrow.

14. The storm has arrived
Wind and downpours. This place is locked down like a fortress and has been since 11AM. I was wondering if the storm would show up. It did.

16. oh wow
I was just about to head off to bed and since it didn't seem so bad out, I was going to leave two kitchen windows open. Now, no.

17. Cher - if you see this, turn off your icemaker before you go to bed.
If your water is compromised overnight you won't be able to distinguish 'clean' ice from compromised.
