Republicans to Democrats: Stop 'lies' and 'scare tactics'

Republicans are accusing Democrats of using "scare tactics" to convince Americans the GOP wants end Medicare and Social Security.

In the party's weekly radio address, Sen. Dean Heller of Nevada says both parties should come together to fix those programs, overhaul the nation's tax code and pass pro-growth policies to right the economy.

"Let's stop the lies about who wants to end Medicare or eliminate Social Security and fix both programs now," Heller says. "If some in Washington would stop campaigning long enough to do their jobs, we could fix both and ensure their existence for generations to come."

Heller puts the blame for the sluggish economy squarely on President Obama's shoulders and notes his state has fared the worst.

2. Projection...
Invariably Republicans accuse Democrats of doing exactly the things the Republicans are doing.

5. Both parties should stop the lies and scare tactics
Heck , even Sen. Kerry said on Meet the Press a few weeks ago that Social Security, Medicare, an Medicaid are America's only serious long-term problem.

Enough with trying to steal the Trust Funds!

7. Republicans have been trying to undermine and end
Social Security since it began. This continues today. During the Bush Administration they wanted to put it into the stock market so that Wall Street could loot the thing for them.

8. The GOP enthusiastically voted for the Ryan bill that ends Medicare as we know it (privatizes it).
Can't take that one back.

9. Rick Perry says Social Security and Medicare are unconstitutional
Marco Rubio says that those programs have degraded our country's moral fiber.

A bunch of them have called Social Security a "Ponzi scheme".

And they want to keep pretending they want to protect those programs? Why would they want to protect unconstitutional Ponzi schemes that have turned the American citezenry into parasites?

And they want Democrats to play along with that ridiculous narrative?

12. Here's a famous quote that covers this topic.
"I have been thinking that I would make a proposition to my Republican friends... that if they will stop telling lies about the Democrats, we will stop telling the truth about them."

Adlai Stevenson
