This is the first US hurricane landfall since Obama became
President. I have to say I'm impressed with FEMA's approach and the Press Conference live on TV right now.

Thank you Pres. Obama, Janet Napolitano and Fed folks.
Small government my ass!! :applause:

8. Climate change theorists take it on chin on this.
Year after year - THIS year is going to be the worst....blah blah.
More storms, STRONGER storms.
It never happened.
Wrong on predictions every year since Katrina.
Climate change or no, no changing the fact - hurricane predictions based on climate change are wrong every year.

Seriously?

That doesn't really say much about climate change theory, just hurricane prediction. This year outside my front door: unprecedented tornadoes, record stretch of 100 degree temperatures and a hurricane. No, not proof of climate change theory, nor your theory.

13. You actually buy that Koch-funded bullshit?
No legitimate climate scientist ever suggested that global warming could be pinned as the cause for the severity of a specific hurricane. Just that it makes such storms more likely. They're always dealing in probabilities.

with the charts/graphics that no one could possibly make out?

12. Obama was on top of this one.
From what I've been hearing, lots of emergency services were prepared and ready to be deployed.

And thankfully, it looks like Irene's just a Cat 1. Don't get me wrong, even a Cat 1 can still do lots of damage, but not on the mind-boggling scale of a Katrina.

I'll bet the Repubs were hoping to howl about this one, and are coming out terribly disappointed.

14. It'll still be "Obama's Katrina" before it's over.
Edited on Sat Aug-27-11 11:26 AM by JohnnyRingo
Even if the govt reponds throughout and does everything humanly possible, there'll be guests on Hannity's show Monday night calling it such as they complain about how he either overstepped his office or didn't do enough. Sean Hnnity will opine it was both as he just sees it as an opportunity for politial payback.

21. Consider the "Too bad.." to serve the same purpose as the word "but."
And you know that in sentences that contain "but," it's only the part after the "but" that counts. :)

OTOH, because of his administrative skill, he has been more adroit at implementing Republican policies than the clumsy Bush administration. Not a "jab" -- a critique.

I voted, supported, knocked on doors, made phone calls for this person. He is not what he said. I think they got to him, but some say he was always a conservative. FWIW, I still don't think Hillary would have been any different. (Rahm Emmanuel? You gotta be kidding.)

22. Yeah, I've been dismayed by his choice of appointees since
the beginning.

But really, you could just commend him on this particular job well done, and discuss your dissatisfaction with him in appropriate threads. You don't HAVE to get the diss in every single time.

Just my opinion, but it really gets tiresome and only fans the flames further. It's your ulcer, though, not mine. :hi:

And I am impressed with the admin's emergency handling.

It's hard not to notice where this acumen is not applied. (Sore thumb.)
