Dammit. I hate stories like this.
http://vancouver.katu.com/news/crime/442657-911-calls-shed-new-light-crash-killed-3-month-old-boy

VANCOUVER, Wash. - Newly released 911 calls reveal that people tried to warn police about a possible drunk driver who eventually smashed into a car in a wreck that killed a 3-month-old boy.

The crash happened Sunday night. Terra Pina and Angel Pina, along with their infant, Gabriel, were returning home from a camping trip when they got a flat tire. So they pulled over to the shoulder along Interstate 5 in Vancouver.

Their entire world changed within minutes when a car smashed into them.

"I just remember saying 'no' when I saw him coming," said Terra. "I looked over at Angel and his seat was almost to the dashboard," she added. "I turned around to see if Gabriel was OK and the whole - the whole rear end of the car was pushed up. I started screaming."

It ain't stopping it...we need to treat it more harshly but also treat it as the disease it is.

8. Naw, not the death penalty.
That's not right. I just want there to be tough laws on drunk driving.

Things were a lot looser 20-30 years ago. That was wrong. License suspension, car impoundment, that's pretty tough as it is.

5. We just had
a head-on crash that killed a man on his way to visit his related tribe- the Makah, for their 3 day celebration. He was from the Ahousht First Nation in British Columbia. The man who hit him crossed the centerline - he was still drunk at 8 AM.
The cars were nothing more than twisted metal.

We are still too weak on drunk drivers, even when they kill people.

6. When I was in Norway, attending a family reunion on a small island off the coast
we partied and danced till 2:30AM. The beer and wine flowed freely.

Everyone walked back to their lodgings, even on that little island with one road. That's how ingrained not driving after drinking is in Norway.
