Supposed to come to a decision soon.

1. Obama fail.
How many republican members of congress live in the states this pipeline is slated for? A whole bunch, the administration could have at least "held it hostage, GOP style" for a massive jobs bill.

2. This has nothing to do with the Congress -- he makes the
decision on his own.

4. He could have told congress, that if you do not pass a jobs bill, I will not move this project
forward.

8. I think this is more important in the big picture. We'll survive
somehow, the planet may not and then we end up not surviving either.

But I see the point you were making -- I'm glad he didn't. That's assuming, of course, he doesn't give it the go-ahead. If he does, I'm with you.

Get rid of this awful plan.

6. If it were up to me, I would. Call and e-mail the WH - let
them know how you feel. I think they must tally the yeas and nays at the very least. I just put my message in the subject line - NO on the pipeline! and say the same thing when I call. They don't care about our reasons, they only care about if it is supported or not.

9. do you think they care?
i really do not by now. i actually think they'd more likely put us on a list than respond to what we need.

10. Well I think he's becoming more concerned about the polls and his
declining approval ratings, and I think that's why he would care. If we could overwhelm them with our 'votes' I think it might help. Problem is, not all that most people aren't even aware of this issue.

But all I can do is call for me and encourage my friends to do so. As Mother Teresa said "If you can't feed a hundred mouths, feed one".

12. I do, but who knows.. They don't seem to get the messages.
Out of war: Nope. Medicare for All: Nope. Raise taxes on wealthy and close loopholes: Nope. Build up America: Nope, can't afford that. Get rid of that horrible NCLB, Race to the Bottom crap: Nope, double down on testing and fire the experienced staff to save a buck. They don't seem to listen very well.

13. You know, he's an intelligent guy and I know he believes
in global warming. Unless he's been able to convince himself it isn't harmful, he may come through on this. How can he look at his daughters and know what that would do to their world and their childrens' worlds, and still be able to okay it? This goes beyond politics and votes and playing the game - he's got to understand that.
