In This Society We Live In: "Nice Guys Finish Last?" Agree or Disagree?
If you care about your Neighbor, Friend, Relative...you are considered "WEAK" by both your Repug and Dem Standards of an American Citizen and their duties to support our Democracy.

1. Frequently, yes. Not always, though. (NT)

2. from my experience as a 'nice guy'
'nice' is equalled to 'weak'

The irony, of course, is that it's much more difficult to take the high road and be 'nice' than it is to be an ass.

3. yep
The ass can just go thru life without a thought or care
but a saint has to be very, very careful.

As for finishing last, the race ain't over til the fat lady sings. Karma is her name, and if she sits on you, you've lost.

4. Unfortunately, in this society it is weakness to have empathy and not screw over your fellow man.
Its why this society is sooo sick and we hear about roaming groups of well off teens beating up homeless Vets rather than reaching into their pockets and ripping off a $100.00 bill from Daddy's allowance money.

6. Karma will happen.
A society that condemns empathy and rewards treachery will collapse in on itself.

8. I work with a company full of 'nice guys and gals'...we can't ALL finish last
If kindness were a paycheck, I'd be a millionaire (or billionaire..which is last years millionaire)

10. Being nice
Well, sometimes it works and some times it doesn't.

But I don't fucking care if it "works" - my wife would call that "giving to get".

Being nice always works for me because it's something I believe in and something that I should do as a human being.

I have a lot of flaws and lack effectiveness and drive, but I do try to be honorable, but with a lot of human weaknesses.

I would rather stay at the bottom and stay nice than to be a cut throat and rise to the top to become the "King Weasel"

13. Agree wholeheartedly.
It's terrible, but it's the truth. I cannot recall the number of times being honest, decent and principled has cost me, dearly. This is not a world or country for decent people. They'd be happier someplace else. All it's ever earned me is isolation, scorn and ridicule.
