5. Tyson's is just a few miles from me.
I was so scared today, for about 15 seconds I thought the whole house would cave it, it was so loud. My favorite old pottery broke, a 40-year-old piece my aunt made. And a little smoking man statue my husband's parents brought us from Germany fell and cracked apart. I think I can fix the little man but the pottery is gone forever :( Things fell off the shelves in every room of the house, I'm glad more things didn't break.

Sorry to hear about your breakage, be sure to inspect the whole house/foundation.

10. I AM sorry about your special things breaking. A loss is a loss, even when it's a small thing.
I'm sure it was a huge shock to go through.

6. So far damage floated by USGS was at about 100 million
but hey, if people want to make fun... on the bright side... Mineral VA needs a new City Hall and a new fire station.

14. Story from Mineral VA...
Edited on Tue Aug-23-11 08:52 PM by PoliticAverse
"Everything is just gone," said Denise Strong, manager of Miller's Market, the town's main grocery store. "There's structural damage, everything's broken. We lost everything at the store."

15. The fire station is also damaged
and city hall lost a section.

This is why this joking bothers me. I get it, but there are people who were lucky not to get hurt.

And to add to the fun and games, not surprisingly, fire was running cardiac calls

4. I guess I must be a really horrible person because I totally LOL'd.
And then when I rec'd your OP it stayed at zero. Obviously there are people taking offense.

Still, it cracks me up, I can't help it. Apparently I am irredeemably evil. :(

8. Recommended.
No one died, so I think it's ok to laugh about it. There are lots of things too painful to laugh about. This isn't one of them.
