5. Indeed. Has been for as long as has been recorded. It's all relative, of course.
I think most of the west coast would snicker at what we consider "active." :D

10. I didn't know they were fracking in Trinidad.
I think they will find direct correlation between fracking and earthquakes in certain regions of the country.

Not to mention poisoned water.

16. Poisoned water, maybe; but earthquakes in the 3-5 range are quite common
...and have been since the 1900s, which is when we started looking at them.

I used to spend a lot of time with the fellow who owned the Raton newspaper; every time there was an earthquake (every few years), he'd trot out a historical piece one of the old-timers wrote for him in the 1960s, about all the quakes. Southern CO and northern NM are about as unstable as things get in the West (and not terribly, I'd add, as I said above).

17.  NPR did a story about a town in Alabama
that had a terrible increase in earthquakes. The town finally rid themselves of the frackers and the quaking just quit. Coincidence I suppose but still an interesting story.

14. How many fracking times have we tried to do just that with little or no success?
It's not even in the DU spell checker.
It keeps telling me to change it to "frocking".
But I don't want to say frocking, so it's a Catch-22 sort of situation.

20. I felt an odd one last night
here in Golden, just a few minutes before midnight last night, I attributed it to LaFarge which is just up the road dynamiting, until I noted the time. It was a rolling feeling, and made me feel like I was swaying to the left. Building swayed, Husband noted it as well, he actually got under a door frame.

It had to been very small. I didnt read anything about it in the morning papers. So I donno what the hell it was.
