Bill Clinton's Best Friend Terry "McAuliffe Doubts Clinton Will Run in 2016"
Edited on Mon Aug-22-11 11:42 PM by ClarkUSA
Former DNC Chairman Terry McAuliffe tells Lorton Patch that he doesn't see a presidential campaign in Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's future:

"My personal opinion is that she is really looking forward to getting back to Chappaqua, N.Y., enjoying life, hopefully being a grandmother and running a foundation for women and children. She has been first lady, a U.S. senator, secretary of state. She hasn't stopped in 20 years. I think she's looking forward to enjoying life, to relaxing and not having to get in a plane every single day and going to three countries."

However, McAuliffe does seem like he's gearing up for another run for Virginia governor.

3. She has done so much.
Let her enjoy her retirement.

6. It's the hair, mostly.
The pulled back thing looks very severe on her, and it doesn't blend with the outfit.

9. The WH has a hairdresser and a barber on call all the time.
In real life, you have to make do on your own.

She was never the type to fuss with her hair, anyway, when left to her own devices.

5. Not surprising. She's got a tough job now, and she's not exactly young.
Also, she apparently needs to ride herd on Bill, to keep him from dressing in uranium-green shirts.

7. Perhaps the fact that she said a year ago she wouldn't gave him a clue...
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said Sunday that she won't run again for elective office, ruling out a future presidential bid.

8. She's TOO OLD. Her time was 2008, and it has passed. She knows this.
It has to be a source of disappointment, but she's a savvy woman. She'll find a role that suits her age and stage in life.

10. She'll Be Pushing 70 By Then, Won't She?
That seems to be the cut-off point for most candidates. The point where the other side starts preparing the "he/she's too old" rhetoric. Of course, in most cases, they're right (see Ronald Reagan, Bob Dole, Grampy McCain).

11. Didn't she say back in 2010 that she wasn't going to run for President again..or any other elective
office?

I believe she said it when she was talking about not serving beyond Obama's first term.
