Summary execution
A summary execution is a variety of execution in which a person is killed on the spot without trial or after a show trial. Summary executions are practiced by the police, military, and paramilitary organizations and are associated with guerrilla warfare, counter-insurgency, terrorism, and criminality.

Is this a progressive means of justice?

Why do some still call for this against those alleged to have committed crimes against women and children?

1. Vengeance is a hot, impulsive act--best accomplished without delay
Justice, on the other hand, is a dispassionate, considered, delayed result that stems from taking the time to present and review the facts.

Vengeance and Justice are not interchangeable.

3. Not interchangeable, and not even compatible with one another.
Plus, Justice can frequently conatin Mercy within it. Vengeance has no room for that.
