Store Refuses To Sell Wedding Dress To Lesbian Bride
Live in NJ or NY? Getting married?? Know anyone who is??? Here's something you might want to know about a store called Here Comes the Bride located in Somers Point, NJ...

http://jezebel.com/5832230/store-refuses-to-sell-wedding-dress-to-lesbian-bride

Last week, a New Jersey bridal store manager refused to sell a dress to a customer when she found out she was a lesbian. The manager's reasoning is bigoted (obviously), and also extremely bizarre.

According to the Philadelphia Daily News, Alix Genter and her mom, dad, aunt, cousin, and two family friends arrived at Here Comes the Bride in Somers Point, NJ last Saturday. Her mom had packed muffins for the trip, and they had also brought champagne. This family sounds awesome. Genter found a dress she liked and everything was fine, until a store manager identified only as Donna called on Tuesday. She had read Genter's customer-information form, on which she'd crossed out "groom" and written "partner," and said she wouldn't sell Genter a dress because she was gay. Donna explained that "we do not participate in any illegal actions."

Given that Genter plans to get married in New York, where gay marriage is now legal (woo!), and in any case there's no law against a lesbian wearing a wedding dress or having a ceremony, Donna's explanation is not just homophobic but ridiculous.

(click on the link if you want to stomach the BS quotes from the asshole store owner)

9. Well, she certainly isn't going to be salesperson of the year!
I know that I'm supposed to be incensed by this but I'm just amused. Donna could have sold a very expensive wedding dress. Instead, they went somewhere else and they've given the company so much bad press, they probably won't be selling many more dresses. That was dumb, dumb, dumb dumb. Dumb, dumb dummmmmm

Someone sounds bitter. And jilted.

4. Have you seen the Google Maps link for that store? 139 reviews, average of 1 star (out of 5)

10. I have to wonder how many of the gowns in her store were designed by gay people.
Probably way more than she can stomach.

8. I'm sorry, but that's funnier than shit
Donna the ditz doesn't have any sales skill whatsoever.

It's like when the RWs wanted to buy up all of the Dixie Chicks CDs so they could burn them. I was totally behind that effort. Yeah, buy 'em all up.

I like that the business is identified so as to maximize the eventual loss to the store thanks to Donna the Ditz.

Sure, she's homophobic and that's bad but she's stupid so she got instant karma and that's good.
