Sooo...I'm one of the lucky ones with insurance...how "Obamacare" saved my family
i was finally able to put my 21 year-old on my policy.he was seen by an internal medicine and neurosurgeon who both determined he has a form of scoliosis(not severe). he's getting physical therapy. my 14 year-old had his "unruptured" appendix removed last night because I have insurance and didn't put it off. I am getting my IV iron infusion next week, because my insurance pays the $1200 price tag
Obamacare sucks...let's repeal it. I think not. Let's improve it.
you have insurance. That's nice and I'm happy for you. However, it presumably already covered you and your fourteen year old . . . so giving credit to 'Obamacare' for your coverage for those conditions is spreading it a bit thin. I'm glad your 21-year old will get some physical therapy for his scoliosis, but a little surprised the issue was not addressed before now.
My point being...I have insurance. it made it easier to obtain treatment for my kids. Scoliosis was apparently misdiagnosed when he was 7 and 10-i worked him up for everything. My ability to finally take a kid who was uninsured for almost 3 years to a internationally recognized university program was only made possible by this access. I have MULTIPLE neighbors who have family members with pre-existing illnesses who are now covered.
i am a vocal advocate for universal health care(in case you missed my editorial) I simply am pointing out that the new health plan DOES help some. I know not all...don't forget-i was on Kucinich's bandwagon in 2008.
