Happy Birthday Elvis!
I didn't think Elvis' birthday should go by without some kind of acknowledgement. After all, he was the King, and everybody on the planet probably knows his birthday.

I remember exactly where I was when I heard the news of his demise.

Some friends and I were parked at a trail head in the Sequoia Nevada mountains. We were about to embark on a nine-day backpacking trip. That was the last thing we heard before we turned off the car radio.

When we returned to my friend's car, we turned on the radio. The first thing we heard was about the death of Elvis Presley.
