I wonder if the family is having second thoughts. I don't think I could face a bank of cameras if I were in their position much less dozens of reporters yelling questions at me.

7. These distraught people would be better off...

...having a representative read their statement, rather than going through the media meat grinder themselves. At the very least, they should not subject themselves to any media Q & A.

9. FOX has a live feed. All of the other stations are dark as far as I can tell.

Two men came out about 15 minutes ago and handed out a statement. They didn't identify themselves, even though the reporters were all over them asking them who they were, if they are lawyers, etc...

The camera feed then picked up a handful of reporters reading the statement into their feeds.

The family is obviously in shock.

I caught CNN's Susan Candiotti reading it on camera. I actually felt relieved that the parents chose to do it that way.

Now if they could only escape to a "secure, undisclosed location" instead of being forced by the media to be prisoners in their own home...

10. MSNBC has had a "soon" banner on their site since 2pm EST

8. Someone who knows how needs to link to the AOL news article on

them from this morning. It was very good and very informative. They are having a hard time and are in hiding from the press. One interesting item was from a neighbor of 22 years who told about Jared being kept in the house and not being allowed to play with the neighborhood kids. Strange?
