Police Have ID's On 'Close To Half' Of Germantown Flash Mob
WASHINGTON -- A Montgomery County police spokesman tells 630 WMAL News that investigators have tentatively identified "close to half" of the 28 individuals captured by surveillance video during a flash mob raid on a Germantown 7-Eleven store early Saturday morning.

Police Captain Paul Starks told the WMAL Morning Majority program Wednesday, "Once we posted , we had a lot of people from the community giving us information. We've also been using other sources in the community, like our school resource officers with their network of knowledge in the public high schools up-county" to provide identification, Starks said.

"As of late last night, I believe we have close to half of these individuals with tentative identifications," said Starks.

Starks told WMAL investigators are working with the Montgomery County State's Attorney's office to come up with specific charges to levy against the suspects, possibly including theft and conspiracy to commit theft. Starks says those details will be worked out as investigators learn more details of how the flash mob was assembled.
