This guy on the Tulsa cell tower has my heart pounding...
Edited on Tue Aug-16-11 05:55 PM by CleanGreenFuture
The rescuer in the bucket tried to grab him and pull him in but the guy got away from him and he is now in a precarious position.

The bucket has left also and he is alone.

ETA: Streaming Video:

I hope he comes down safely.

ETA #2: Bucket is on the way back up, perhaps to bring water or maybe the guy will finally give up.

3. ...
"Officials have said that if he were suicidal he would probably have jumped by now; he's told them he doesn't want to be "down there." "DOWN THERE..."

I understand all too well what he's trying to say... too many people are going through the same thing...

6. Do they know who he is? Why he is up there? Has anyone investigated
his past?

4. Sturdivant has been on the tower since last Thursday morning! (link to more info)
This is the first I had heard of this and so went looking for more info.

Sorry it's from FOX.

snip-
According to the TPD negotiator, he told police Thursday he had "to work some things out" and indicated he could be on the tower "for a week if he wanted." He also expressed concerns about onlookers, asking why they were there, specifically pointing out people who'd brought children.

Negotiators say Sturdivant has exhibited bizarre behavior in the past, including walking all the way from Tulsa to Dallas. As recently as last month, he stood on a bridge in Missouri for hours. Officers fear he has the endurance to stay on the tower for much longer. Police also believe he has had a weapon while on the tower - an instrument they described as a metal object wrapped in tape.
