Homeless man living in Ann Curry's home
Report: Homeless man living in Ann Curry's home

A homeless man has been residing in Ann Curry's $2.9 million Upper West Side house, unbeknownst to the "Today" show host, reports the New York Post.

Curry and husband Brian Ross have been renovating the four-story NYC townhouse for the past eight years, and during that time the Post reports it has become a stomping ground for various vagrants. On Saturday, police arrested a drifter who has lived in the brownstone “for about a year.”

The Post spoke to the ousted squatter, who yelled, "Ann Curry means crap to me!"

The man, who didn’t give his name, explained that he moved in to the 3,700 square-foot home “because they chased me out of Central Park." He added that he is “not a drug addict,” and offered to return to the house. "I'll go back if someone says, 'Here's the key. Maintain the building.'"

The man was not arrested, as he was found in a vestibule and not actually inside the home. He was taken to a homeless shelter. He's the second vagrant to be kicked out of the property in a year.

5. It appears their plans to add a penthouse weren't to code
Construction was stopped five years ago. Since then they've also been sued by neighbors for excessive noise, etc.

Frankly, theirs are the types of problems I cannot wrap my working class head around.

2. Eight years to do renovations?
They build skyscrapers in a lot less time than that.

BTW, there isn't some way to secure the property?

3. First clue that you have too much money
You have a swanky home valued at $2.9 million, and a homeless person can live there for a year with nobody noticing. I like Ann Curry, but this is just one more exhibit in a never-ending gallery that says the wealthy can surely afford to pay more in taxes and help fund the society that makes their prosperity possible. In fact, with higher tax revenues, we might just end homelessness, and folks with too many houses wouldn't have anything to worry about from squatters.

9. Surely she makes enough money that she could have built 5 townhouses
Edited on Tue Aug-16-11 03:49 PM by TwilightGardener
in the years it took to "renovate" just ONE. And don't they ever go there? Oversee shit? Spend the night? Was it an afterthought? Edit to add: have they never heard of Schlage? Or Kwikset? Jeezus.

10. In a world of untalented and airheaded news readers
Ann Curry is among the most untalented and airheaded.

The fact that a homeless man can live unnoticed in her house for a year proves to me that the persona of constant amazement and incomprehension she adopts on TV is no act. She really is that stupid.
