Paul Ryan is in the final stages of deciding on a presidential run.

Wisconsin congressman Paul Ryan is strongly considering a run for president. Ryan, who has been quietly meeting with political strategists to discuss a bid over the past three months, is on vacation in Colorado discussing a prospective run with his family. Ryan’s concerns about the effects of a presidential campaign – and perhaps a presidency – on his family have been his primary focus as he thinks through his political future.

“He’s coming around,” says a Republican source close to Ryan, who has been urging the 41-year-old to run.

“With Paul, it’s more about obligation than opportunity,” says another Wisconsin Republican. “He is determined to have the 2012 election be about the big things. If that means he has to run, he’s open to it.”

Ryan hinted at his thinking during a candid interview Friday with Charlie Sykes, an influential asinine right-wing loud-mouthed talk radio host in Milwaukee, telling Sykes that he was unsatisfied with the current crop of Republican candidates.

Strike-through and bolded correction mine. Who wants to bet he ends up NOT running but on the ticket as veep?

Me, first!

3. Not sure. He's up in 2012 and has ruled out Kohl's Senate seat.
We have a strong challenger running a campaign already: http://robzerban.com/

8. I wish he would, but
most probably he won't. Too bad, having debates about how to eliminate Medicare (while still keeping the name) would have been.... interesting.

11. So, he's vacationing in Colorado. Is he too scared to have a few townhalls and create
YouTube moment for himself with angry constituents yellin at him for trying to kill off grandma? Btw; must be nice to have a 1 month vacation to do what one likes after not earning it during the congressional session. If anyone in this country had such low job performance as congress, they would be fired. These tools keep coming back, work inefficiently, cost us all a lot of money, and often, especially the republicans, do the opposite of what their employers wish.

How many polls does it take to understand that on people want to tax the rich, leave all foreign wars, have a Medicare for all type of healthcare system, invest in infrastructure, invest in education, and hire direct if that's what it takes to lower the unemployment. Oh and definately do not want social security dismantled.

12. I didn't even know he was considering
I've heard some pundits/commentators discuss it but I didn't think he'd actually consider running. Him taking his "bold" and "very serious" Medicare *plan* out on the campaign trail will do wonders for him (and the Republican Party that voted for it or would support it if elected POTUS).

I say to Ryan: Go for it!!!!
