Ok ..lets stop take a deep breath and read some history
History going back to FDR and the Republican power group against FDRs New Deal and Social Security labeled as Socialism.
The difference between 1937 and 2011 is that we had a super Majority in both houses of Congress and they didn't have the super rich like Koch Bro's to bankroll their cause.. The then Republican power group were able to draw some Democrats into their cause with segregation issues and calling FDR actions socialism and Communism..
Now we could lose this election in 2012 either by theft of by the millions of dollars poured into ads by (Citizens United efforts of Koch bros) or through their AFP..Now I don't agree with Obama on many issues and yes I have said he is/acting like a Republican but we have not had SS or Medicare cuts yet. Democrats will have their day and we have to stand our ground and not stray from our battle stations because we are probably up against the most powerful forces ever in our history of politics..
When nut cakes like Perry say SS and Medicare is unconstitutional then that is nothing moe than a replay of the 30's
We need to start now and convince eligible candidates to get on the Democratic Ticket for Congress..Help them get the necessary signatures to file etc..Just found out yesterday that the Tea party has a candidate that will be challenging Senator Lugar here in Idiana..Lugar is not far right enough for them...
This Tea Party Power is not going away as long as they have billionaire bank rollers and the SCOTUS backing them.

2. The majority in Congress is A difference. It is not the only one.
To claim that it is is crazy. To wrap up such a statement in 'lets' look at history' is shameful. The OP means 'let's look at those bits of history that serve this premise'. It is far from a full picture being painted.

3. OMG..It was to remind Democrats about the Republican
Power group that hasn't changed in 75 except that today with the billionaire bank rollers they are even more powerful than they were back in the 30's..read the article..

4. 1932 is the proper comparison, Obama is Hoover, not FDR.
Four years after the crash, etc., it all lines up.
