Which means an optimized for mobile web version.

Personally, I've been fine with the full version on my iPhone. Never a problem and the same familiar layout as a computer browser.

A mobile version would be very good. It should not be specific to iPhone or Android though.
There is no good reason to do that, and it would lock out other smartphone users.
