know what would be awesome?
If Ron Paul and his nutty supporters got angry enough at being snubbed by the conservative media that they decide to run an independent campaign in the general.

Split off 10% of the GOP and guarantee an Obama landslide.

Seriously...nut job or not, he has a real constituency among tea party whackos.

2. the fact that they're spending millions trying to defeat Obama shows that
Your statement is silly.

They are doing everything in their power to remove him from office ... .this election cycle they will spend nearly a billion to defeat him.

That's how removed from reality your view is.

4. Yeah, they're racists. But they've gotten everything they've asked for just about.
What have we got that we asked for?

3. You don't wan't that - Paul might well win.
Remember, Reagan was considered a fringe wacko - then he was President. Paul is honest and while his views are disproved by history, they have a certain internal consistency. These qualities put him ahead of Obama and the likely Republican nominee, particularly when the economy is a total catastrophe for 99% of Americans.

BTW, when you get a chance, please do share the link where Obama rejected his commission's vote to recommend a 22% cut in Social Security benefits over time - I'm having trouble finding it, I'm probably not looking in the right places. Thanks.

6. I think the PTB (GHWB) did a lot of leveraging to ensure puppet Reagan was elected.
It's been a very difficult enfolding/unfolding since then.

Great post.

10. the fact that absolutely zero cuta have been made to SS in the deficit deal is all the proof needed
When the deficit commission produced their recommendations, Obama took no action on them and they weren't passed.

Show me ANY SS cuts at all in the deal. I'm having trouble finding any... perhaps you can show some links that prove cuts were made to SS.

8. Personally I don't think age should be a disqualifier,
but there are a lot of people that won't vote for someone over 70, just sayin.

11. It's the phenomenon wherein young people flatter themselves by choosing
neither viable option, opting instead for the choice that seems to sit ABOVE the two-party system. Once they hit 30, they realize how arrogant they seemed in their 20s. I know a lot of recent college grads who are Paul-ites. Most have never had a job.
