Why - after we here at DU disputed and proved to be FALSE the Allegations of Weapons of Mass Destruction as portrayed by Collen Powell at the UN in the lead up to War with Iraq. Of course anyone who would utter such words was immediately "Branded a Traitor to the State" and admonished with threats of violence for daring to speak out against the President during a "Time of War"
Why - after we here at DU shouted "It's a False Paper Economy used by Bush to fund the War in Iraq" as the Bush administration further deregulated Banking and Securities Trading as to facilitate the Selling of Bonds to China to fund his family's personal vendetta in Iraq.
I remember my father - a WWII Combat Veteran and myself a Vietnam Veteran, scared to utter any words of the OBVIOUS Abuses of Power granted under the Patriot Act. Scared we would whisked away in the middle of the night to some undisclosed secret detention facility at the whim of the then Attorney General who at any time could declare nearly any group for any reason what so ever in complete secrecy a "Terrorist Organization"

When we have 1000s of examples Freely Displayed across the World Wide Web, Nationally Televised Speeches, and Political Commentaries, broadcast for all to see, threatening Life and Liberty of anyone who disagrees with them and dares to speak out
Why should we stand ideally by while the Sheriff who arrested, gathered evidence and interviewed the suspect gave a First Hand Honest Assessment based on his knowledge of this case and MANY Years of experience serving in Arizona, is ruthlessly ATTACKED and BELITTLED for sharing his HONEST ASSESSMENT of the Situation
