F. Lee Bailey: Paper proves OJ Simpson's innocence
Yup, this is a new assertion by FLB. Ummm ok...I thought some here could use a diversion from the Tucson story

F. Lee Bailey: Paper proves OJ Simpson's innocence
Evidence of O.J Simpson's innocence was held back in the 1995 trial, says defense lawyer

Evidence of O.J Simpson's innocence was held back in the 1995 trial in which he was acquitted in the murder of his ex-wife and her friend in Los Angeles, one of his former lawyers says in a new document.

In the 20,000-word document, F. Lee Bailey tells of four people who could have bolstered Simpson's case but never testified. He also gives an overview of the sensational trial from his own perspective.--snip--In the document, Bailey said the defense team was prepared to call four people who never testified -- a forensic scientist, an expert on battered women, a blood expert and the person whose possible testimony he says is the most important of the four: a man who might have seen the killers.

--snip--

Simpson was found not guilty. Most Americans are convinced that he is guilty, Bailey said, but the document might persuade some doubters that he is innocent. More at the link

Francis Lee Bailey Jr., commonly referred to as F. Lee Bailey, (born June 10, 1933) is an American criminal defense lawyer who served as the lawyer in the Sam Sheppard re-trial. He was also the supervisory attorney over attorney Mark J. Kadish in the court martial of Captain Ernest Medina for the My Lai Massacre, among other high profile trials, and was one of the lawyers for the defense in the O. J. Simpson trial. He has also had a number of visible defeats, legal controversies, and personal trouble with the law, and was disbarred for misconduct while defending his client Claude DuBoc.

Why all the rehashing of the O.J. trial all of a sudden? Oprah herself had Mark Fuhrman on the other day.

11.  Bailey himself is quoted in the Salon article that he
" can get a firestorm going anywhere in the United States by saying 'O.J.,'". I suspect Oprah is aware of this too. So I think the rehashing is good for business, so to speak.

5. O.J. wrote, "If I Did It."
Would an innocent man write that account? Yeah, sure, and I've got a bridge to sell ya' out here in Cal.

F. Lee - everyone deserves a defense, and you did mount a mighty one; BUT, that's on your conscience.

8. And what a creepy book it is...
The Goldman family won the rights to the book in their civil suit against Simpson and had it published.

in which Simpson was found guilty.

13. F. Lee, I hate to break this to you but O.J. has become too culturally irrelevant
to waste 20,000 words on but thanks for sharing.

14. Well, I sure hope that OJ was guilty.
If not, there are some thugs running around free who got away with murder.

17. remember when OJ promised to devote the rest of his life to finding the real killers?
Perhaps he tracked them to a Nevada prison and got himself incarcerated so he could continue the investigation there. He is in a Nevada prison, right?
